“Dolj – Montana: Joint steps for a better connectivity” - eMS 375

What’s the goal?

The overall objective of the project is to improve the development and coordination of cross-border transport systems for better connections to TEN-T network from Dolj and Montana counties.

What’s the budget?

7,689,268.62 euro, out of which 6,535,878.32 euro ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 4,700,000 euro for LB and 2,989,269 euro for B2

Who is doing it?

Lead Beneficiary (LB): Territorial Administrative Unit - Dolj County (Romania)

Beneficiary 2 (B2): Road Infrastructure Agency (Bulgaria)

When is it happening?

Start date: 11.07.2018

End date: 10.07.2021

Duration: 36 months

How is it going to happen?

  • A road map of Dolj and Montana highlighting the black spots on the roads
  • Awareness campaign for speed managing and human tolerance on roads
  • Technical Design and technical assistance from the designer
  • Upgrading works of a road section of DJ 561 B
  • Works supervision services for both LB and B2
  • Construction works for both LB and B2
  • Works Supervision services for both LB and B2
  • A common traffic safety system consisting of 8 solar radar speed signs Public events

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs: 19.84 km of upgraded road, 3 joint mechanisms to facilitate the connection of tertiary nodes to TEN-T infrastructure

Programme results: 13,546 people served by modernized infrastructure leading to TEN-T

Project status

As the project implementation is in the beginning stage, no significant progress was registered so far.

However, both project partners focused on the procurement process, activity necessary for creating the premises for the physical implementation of the project.

Beside all these, LB organized the launching press conference of the project, event that took place on 26.07.2018 in Craiova and which was attended by 21 participants.
