ROBG-305 - “Equipment save our lives”

What’s the goal?

The overall objective of the project is to improve joint risk management in the cross-border area. The current project aims to achieve reduction of the vulnerability of the environment and to prevent the consequences of social and economic disaster caused by flooding or fires in the border region.

What’s the budget?

910 542.10 euro, out of which 773 960.78 euro ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 24,500 euro for LB and 12,000 euro for B2

How is it going to happen?

  • Conducting a comparative legal analysis on the Romania and Bulgarian legislation regarding disaster management
  • Development of analysis of the current disaster management plans and responsible institutions
  • Elaboration of study on local and European best practices in the field of natural disaster management and structural improvement
  • Development of In-depth Guide to Citizen Disaster Preparedness
  • Delivery of specialized risk management equipment in Montana and Motatei

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs: 51.437 people benefiting from actions of risk management, 1 joint partnerships in the field of joint early warning and emergency response

Programme results: increased quality of the joint risk management in the CBC area for 51.437 citizens

Project status

The project is in the 8th month of implementation out of 18 months. So far, Lead Beneficiary concluded a contract for the elaboration of comparative legal analysis for Romanian and Bulgarian legislation in accordance with the risk management, while Beneficiary 2 signed a contract for an analysis of the actual disaster, plans for management and the responsible institutions, both analysis are expected to be delivered in the next reporting period.

In terms of project promotion, the first press conference was held in Montana, on 05.10.2018, with a total of 10 participants, and also were awarded the necessary service contracts.

All the services for the activities contained in the current reporting period have been awarded.
