14th meeting of the Monitoring Committee for Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme

The Managing Authority (MA) for the Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme – the Romanian Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration (MDPWA), the National Authority (NA) – the Bulgarian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW) and the Joint Secretariat (JS) of the Programme - Regional Office for Cross-Border Cooperation for Romania-Bulgaria Border, organized today, November 21, 2022, online, the 14th meeting of Monitoring Committee for Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme

The management structures of Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme presented the progress in the implementation in 2022. The most significant progresses are related to the increase of the Programme's absorption rate up to 69.93%, representing approximately 150 million euros ERDF (requested to European Commission) and also the increase of the value of the payments made to beneficiaries, namely 178.47 million euros (out of which 162.81 million euro ERDF).

Also, in terms of project implementation, the Programme has made important progress, approximatively 81% of the total contracted projects being completed and producing results that contribute to the development of the cross-border area. Currently, 32 projects, valuing approximatively 124 million euro, are still under implementation.
The communication actions completed in 2022 were also presented, as well as the future communication activities planned and included in the Communication Plan for 2023.
The meeting continued with the presentation of the main findings and recommendations of the Programme evaluations and the way they were implemented by the Programme's management structures.
Another topic on the agenda was dedicated to the presentation of the main steps of the closure process of the Interreg V-A Romania Bulgaria Programme. The last part of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation of the future plans for launching and preparing the implementation of the Interreg VI-A Romania Bulgaria Programme.
