Tutrakan – Calarasi an Innovative Cultural Bridge for Sustainable Regional Development

What’s the goal?

The overall objective of the project is to enhance the existing cultural potential which is undervalued and underutilized in order to strengthen the economy and increase the number of tourist visits and overnights by developing modern cultural attractions.

What’s the budget?

475,700.38 euro, out of which 404,700.38 euro ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 73,740 euro for LB and 45,537 euro for B2

  • Publishing of catalogues and brochures related to the cultural sites and events

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs: Increase in expected number of visits to supported sites of cultural and natural heritage and attractions with 15,000; 2 integrated tourism products/services created, 1 common strategy, policy or management plan for valorising (including raising awareness) the cultural and natural heritage through its restoration and promotion for sustainable economic uses

Programme results: increase of the number of overnights in the cbc area with 15,000

Project status

The project is under implementation, with the following results achieved:

The LP completed the Bulgarian part of the joint tourism and mobility strategy and also launched a public procurement procedure for selection of contractor for production of VR.

The materials for the implementation of the exhibition "On a River Distance" were prepared.

On 20.02.2020, the Historical Museum Tutrakan started a market research regarding the prices related to the acquisition of a VR equipment (VR glasses and computers).

The LB purchased equipment of the information center with a contract signed with the supplier VASKO STROI Ltd.

Part of the Bulgarian Join tourism and mobility strategy was completed on 18.12.2019.
