Project status
The project is completed
Lead Beneficiary:
The execution works were completed, and the reception for the investment objective of LB "Modernization of County Road DJ 561B, km.12+130 - 24+260" was carried out on 15.01.2024. The Solar radar panels were installed on the modernized road. The Solar radar panels are used to calm the speed, thus contributing to increase the degree of safety on the upgraded road sector within the project. Also, within the project, the road map of Dolj County and Montana District was made, which aims to highlight the black spots on the roads in order to warn drivers about possible accidents. This was printed in 500 copies being used in dissemination activities.
Beneficiary 2:
Construction work for the investment objective of B2 "Improvement of Road II-81 from km 86+289 to km 94+000" is completed. The authorization to use the modernized road was issued on 01.02.2022. Also, on the modernized road sector, 4 solar radar panels were installed to measure and display speed, with the same aim of increasing traffic safety.

“Creating an innovative and integrated cross-border tourist product between “Vrachanski Balkan” and “Iron Gate” natural parks”
What’s the goal?
The overall objective of the project is to promote the joint sustainable and balanced economic development of the territories of “Vrachanski Balkan” and “Iron Gate” natural parks” through diversification of tourism supply and development of tourism based on cultural and natural heritage as a factor for effective use and exploitation of common advantages and potentials and overcoming imbalances in the region.

How is it going to happen?
- Creation of a strategy and developing a tourist product;
- Creation of a joint integrated innovative tourist product – Cross-Border destination for tourism, based on cultural and natural heritage and performed promotion of a common positive image of two natural parks through modern 3D technologies;
- Building up a Cross-Border network, uniting all the interested parties and a developed capacity for joint strategic planning, management and sustainable development of tourism, growth of the tourist visits and the revenues from tourism in the two parks;
- Repairs and preparations of premises for demonstration digital halls.
What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?
Programme outputs: One common strategy, policy or management plans for valorizing (including raising awareness) the cultural and natural heritage through its restoration and promotion for sustainable economic uses; One integrated tourism product/service; 15,000 expected number of visits to supported sites of cultural and natural heritage.
Programme results: 12,000 tourist overnights in the Cross-Border region.
Project status
The project is finalized.
Lead Beneficiary:
It was elaborated the Preliminary study for identification of the most attractive pilots sites for digitization in Vrachansk Balkan Natural Park. The study proposed 15 objects for digitization, including nature sites, cultural sites and eco trails in the both parks.
LB finalized the digitization of the territory of “Vrachanski Balkan” Natural Park, performing aerial photogrammetric and 8 of sites were selected. The “Visitors Centers Natura” in Vratsa was renovated.
The web platform of the project was developed at https://digiparks.eu/.
Also, the Strategy and Action plan for digitalization of the heritage in both parks were finalized.
Beneficiary 2:
It was elaborated the Preliminary study for identification of the most attractive pilots sites for digitization in Iron Gates Natural Park and 7 of them were selected.
The beneficiary completed the digitization of the territory of the “Iron Gates” National Park, performing aerial photogrammetric inspections and the repair of the Documentation and Information Center in Dubova.
JAMP (ROBG- 384)
Joint Adventure on the Mountain Paths

The overall objective of the project is to support the sustainable development of the cross-border tourism from Romania and Bulgaria and to increase the promotion of the mountain area from Mehedinti, Vidin and Montana.

Programme outputs: 4 common strategies for valorizing the cultural and natural heritage through its restoration and promotion for sustainable economic uses, 2 integrated tourism products created; 180 visits to supported sites of cultural and natural heritage and attraction

Project status:
The project is finalized, with the following results:
- The Studies for identifying the types of trails for mountain electric bikes in the county of Mehedinti, Romania and districts of Vidin and Montana, Bulgaria, were elaborated by each project partner. They are available on their website: www.jamprobg.eu.
- The Common Marketing Strategy for the identified trails for mountain electric bikes in Mehedinti, Vidin and Montana has been elaborated and translated in Bulgarian and English languages and it is available at www.jamprobg.eu.
-Each project partner purchased 50 mountain electric bicycles transferred to the final operators.
- The project website: www.jamprobg.euis available in BG, EN and RO.
- The application for mobile devices has been elaborated and it is available in the AppStore and Google Play by the name “jamprobg bike app”.

“Better connected secondary and tertiary nodes to TEN-T core and comprehensive network through joint CBC measures”

The project main objective is to improve traffic conditions, safety and conductivity between secondary and tertiary nodes and core TEN-T infrastructure in the cross border area through the modernization of 5.087 km of local and regional roads of cross-border importance.

How is it going to happen?
- Modernization of 5.087 km of local and regional roads of cross-border importance, which directly connect the secondary and tertiary nodes on both sides of the Danube to the basic TEN-T infrastructure;
- Coordinating the mechanisms for overcoming the new common challenges arising from the operation of the core TEN-T infrastructure on Pan European corridors 4, 8 and 9;
- Organizing awareness-raising activities with the support of NGOs for the safety of citizens in places where the heavy burden of road traffic meets the local population.
What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?
Programme outputs:
- 5.087 km of reconstructed or modernized roads;
- 3 common mechanisms to facilitate the connection of secondary / tertiary nodes to the TEN-T infrastructure, namely: Elaboration of a traffic safety measures report, applying route guidance and implementation of an awareness raising campaign of safety.
Programme results:
- 85,854 cross-border population served by modernized infrastructure leading to TEN-T.
Project status
Current Project Status:
The implementation period of the project ended on 31.12.2023, but because of the delays registered at the investment activity of LB, the project was included on the list of non-functional projects. The project was completed on 31.12.2024.
LB finalized the construction works on his behalf and reported as achieved a value of 4.14 km of modernized streets (Opalchenska street, streets Teodosiy Tarnovski, Dimitar Naydenov, Slivnitsa and Kliment Ohridsky) and the completion of 2 bridges over the Yantra river in Veliko Tarnovo. Moreover, LB reported a number of 76,811 persons served by the modernized infrastructure for the Result indicator.
B2 finalized the construction works on his behalf and reported as achieved 0.51 km of modernized roads in Calafat, namely Jiului street. The reception at the end of the construction works on behalf of B2 took place on 21st of September 2023. In addition, B2 reported a value of 16,809 people served by the modernized Jiului Street for the Result indicator.
B3 finalized the implementation of all 3 joint mechanisms to facilitate the connection of secondary/tertiary nodes to TEN-T infrastructure, namely:
1. The awareness raising campaign on safety – 3 traffic awareness campaigns were organized within the project, 1 in Ruzhintsi on 18.03.2022, 1 in Veliko Tarnovo on 16.04.2022 and the third in Calafat on 12.05.2022, with a total number of 134 participants.

3. The route guidance mechanism - 3-traffic information panels were installed in Veliko Tarnovo, Calafat and at the cross-section of road III-114 with E-79.
On 26.08.2024, respectively 29.08.2024, B3 organized 2 informative events entitled “Project ROBG-383 Horizons: A Journey Through Aims to Accomplishments” in Ruzhintsi and Veliko Tarnovo.
CIVILSAFETY (ROBG-393)
Integrated risk management and efficient reactions of authorities for civil safety
What’s the goal?
The main overall objective of the project is to increase cross border cooperation in emergency prevention and intervention of authorities and to develop infrastructure and joint services to prevent natural and technological disasters, in the same time with developing the capacity to react quickly to threats to the health and integrity of citizens and goods, in order to ensure a safe area, a sustainable development and an increase in the standard of living of the population. |

Project status
The Project has been finalized and the main achievements are as follows:
- A vehicle for fire intervention, an ambulance, a vehicle for the transport of 10 or more persons and a rescue boat have been delivered to the LB along with a special equipment for alerting the population in emergency situations, such as earthquakes and fires, all of the equipment is foreseen to be used in case of emergencies, such as floods fires earth quakes, by the volunteers on behalf of LB;
- A rescue boat and a special vehicle for intervention in snowstorms and floods have been delivered to B2, all of the equipment is foreseen to be used in case of emergencies, such as floods fires earth quakes, by the volunteers on behalf of B2;
- The Hazard Maps has been fully developed and can be found at www.hazmaps.eu;
- The volunteers team of 10 persons has been appointed at LB and B2 level and the equipment foreseen within the project for them, in order to be able to communicate between them, receive alerts on cell phones from the warning system, observe and store data from the hazard maps, as well as to be used in trainings and workshops, have been delivered. The trainings of the teams have been organised and performed by the B3.
